Courses

Personal Leadership

You can’t lead others until you can first lead yourself. This subject develops the kind of character necessary for Christian leadership. It also cultivates the personal vision, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and self-discipline needed for effective leadership in any sphere.

Introduction to Theology

Do you have questions about God, humanity and the world that you have been unable to answer? Do yousometimes wonder whether Christian beliefs about things like the Trinity and the divinity of Jesus makeany sense? This unit provides you with the opportunity to explore those beliefs that are foundational to Christianity.

Communicating the Christian Faith

In this students will find themselves engaging with the historical, biblical and theological roots for communicating the Gospel and gaining the skills to communicate effectively.

Health

This health care class covers all of the essentials of nutrition for the best health outcomes and also evidence-based diets to control many types of disease. You will learn about the basics of nutrition science and build upon them to explore the latest diet therapies. You will analyze modern nutrition research and learn how to do dietary interventions and plan good meals.

Legal Course

This class covers basic law, social justice, and policy making.

Finance

This course covers how to manage your financial health.

Creativity and entrepreneurship

This unit is a study of Creativity and Entrepreneurship, incorporating an introduction to Entrepreneurship theories and issues related to the development and formation of creative skills in leaders.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THE IMPACT TRIP?

Our trip is open for anyone that is above 18 and interested in being a harbinger and a vanguard towards spreading the love of Jesus Christ.

WHO ARE THE ORGANIZERS FOR THE TRIP?

This trip is being organized by Mission Driven Purpose (501c3) and Abokin Ministries (501c3). Both organizations are partnering together in tandem with the Northern Malawi Conference.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR THE TRIP?

Click on the apply button on this page to begin your application. After your application has been submitted online, your application will be reviewed and a background check will be ensued. If you are selected for an interview, the Impact Malawi team will send you an email to schedule a Zoom interview. Once your interview has been completed for the trip, you will be informed via email of the status of your application.

The deadline to apply is Sept 1, 2022. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.

WHAT ARE THE DATES FOR THE TRIP?

-The dates of the trip are October 5-24. These dates include travel time.

HOW ARE PAYMENTS HANDLED?

Every team member is responsible for covering their trip cost. There will be a payment schedule that will be created. Team members can pay for the trip in full or by using the payment schedule. No refunds will be given if one chooses to forgo on attending the trip. All payments are to be completed online with a major credit card or debit card. Only approved team members will receive additional payment details.

WILL THERE BE SIGHTSEEING ON THE TRIP?

Yes, there will be sightseeing that will be factored into the trip.

WHAT DOES THE MDP & ABOKIN SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP ENTAIL?

-The MDP & Abokin School of Leadership is an immersive program that allows burgeoning leaders to optimize their leadership skills and professional growth, to gain the strategic insights and global perspectives, to lead change and innovation in their corridors of influence.

– All volunteers who register for the trip, will be included as instructors in our school of leadership.

-Volunteers can design a course based on their area of expertise.

-Below are a range of courses that can be covered in our school of leadership. (This is not an exhaustive list, you can submit your own course, once your application has been approved). Some possible courses:

HOW ARE THE COVID PROTOCOLS GOING TO BE IMPLEMENTED?

Only approved applicants will be provided guidelines on this matter.

WILL I HAVE TO FUNDRAISE ON MY OWN?

Yes, your fundraising will be done individually. However, if you are approved, team members will receive tips on how to fundraise for their trip. There are a variegate of ways to fundraise, such as sending out support letters or cutting back on unnecessary expenses, just to name a few.

WILL I RECEIVE ANY PREPARATION BEFORE THE TRIP?

Yes. All approved team members are required to attend the scheduled team trainings. The trainings will cover subjects such as how to minister in another culture, what to pack for your trip, team building, and more. The trainings will be available on-demand, and live group calls will be organized once a month.

DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO ATTEND THE TRIP?

No. You should have a heart for the people you are going to serve.

WHAT DOES THE TRIP COST COVER?

The trip cost covers housing expenses, ground transportation, and all meals at the location. The trip cost does not cover money for souvenirs, meals during travel to/from the location, and airfare tickets (including visas, passports, and travel insurance).

WHAT SORT OF WORK WILL I BE DOING ON THE TRIP?

The type of work you will engage in will depend on your skillsets. Please refer to the top of this page for the different roles that are more than likely to be available on the trip. After the submission of your application (and subsequent interview process) and upon the approval of your application, we will have a better sense of discernment on how best you can serve our trip.

CAN I OPT TO BE ON THE TRIP FOR ONE WEEK?

Yes, we have a one-week option available for an additional cost.

WHAT DOES THE MEDICAL WELLNESS CENTER ENTAIL?

The MDP & Abokin Wellness Center is open to anyone in the medical field including students, who would like to prescribe, diagnose, serve and treat patients that will visit the wellness center during the trip.
